• The course shall consist of a 2 year full time study by coursework, examination and thesis. The first year of study shall be devoted to the coursework while the second year shall be devoted to research work and thesis writing.
• In the first year of study, candidates shall be required to take eight (8) compulsory courses and one (1) optional course.

The general examination regulations of the University of Nairobi and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine shall apply.

6.2     The course shall be examined by continuous assessment tests and a final examination. The continuous assessment tests shall constitute 20% of the final marks and the final examination shall constitute 30% of the mark.

6.3     The final examination shall comprise a 2-hour written examination and a 3-hour practical examination. The practical examination shall constitute 50% of the marks.

6.4     The pass mark shall be 50%.
